Update on Brendan Rodgers plans for the summer
The summer transfer window opened up on July 1rst and managers from around the world are preparing as well as upgrading their respective squads by signing new players and making a few changes within the team in itself.
Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho has already added RadamelFalcao to his team meanwhile Arsene Wenger of Arsenal secured the services of PetrCech. Many other transfers have been done in the Premier League as the summer transfer window has just started.
Brendan Rodgers is fortunate enough to continue being in charge of Liverpool after what was a pretty underwhelming season as they finished at the 6th spot which isn’t terribly bad but what highlights the season of Rodgers is the fact that the majority of his signings have been disappointing.
Fabio Borini, NuriSahin, IagoAspas, KoloToure, AlyCissokho, Victor Moses, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Mario Balotelli all are of the players that have struggled tring to make an impact in Liverpool, some of those players were signed on loan deals while others cost a hefty fee but what they all have in common is that they have not lived up to the expectations that originated after Rodgers added them to the English club.
This upcoming season might be the last one of Rodgers as the head coach of Liverpool, everything depends on how the upcoming campaign goes on and in order to secure a higher spot in the Premier League, Rodgers is hoping that by making a few switches in this summer transfer window it can help his team out in the near future.
Joe Gomez is an 18 year old centre-back that Liverpool signed for a fee of €3.5 million and is one of the first summer signings of Liverpool as well as Bobby Adekanye. Brendan Rodgers also wants to sign Allan Rodrigues de Souza from the Brazilian outfit SC Internacional and he is believed to be preparing an offer in the region of €500,000.
Some of the more recognized players who have been linked with Liverpool includes the likes of: Christian Benteke, Carlos Bacca and Pedro Rodriguez. Unfortunately for Brendan Rodgers, Pedro has renewed his contract with Barcelona and has a buyout clause of €150 million and Carlos Bacca has already been signed by Ac.Milan.
