MANCHESTER UNITED VS LIVERPOOL REVIEW

The game between Manchester United and Liverpool on Sunday is likely to be a close and cagey affair. Both teams have been in contrasting paths with Liverpool very much the team in form winning all their games while United are closer to the relegation than the top four this season.

Despite this, like any derby game, it is a difficult one to predict as both teams can be influenced by emotions that play out differently on the pitch. One area that is interesting is the goalkeeping situation for both clubs.

First choice stoppers Alisson and De Gea are currently out which means that Adrian and Romero should start on Sunday. Both goalkeepers have shown that they are capable of deputizing for their respective number one.

Adrian has been impressive as Liverpool have always had an issue in goal with the likes of Diego Cavalieri, Karius and Mignolet error-prone. Adrian has proven to be a good stopper and has actually played a small role in the good start to the season.

Romero is regarded as the best number 2 in England with the Argentine showing previously that he is capable of taking the reins. Romero will be kept busy by the front three of Mohammed Salah, Bobby Firmino, and Sadio Mane.

The Argentine stopper is cold ice under pressure.  It will be up to Solksjaer to take care of the front three by reducing the space for them to operate. The match itself could make Liverpool equal Manchester City record.

The international break has been good for Liverpool with no major injuries.  Alisson is said to be in training alongside other players.

Liverpool looks more likely to break their jinx at Old Trafford on Sunday. The game could be when Liverpool are crowned champions by the media.
